Possible Activities🎣

There are many activities in the camping site. However due to the weather condition we may be unable to experience them all. Here are all possible activities that we may do during our stay @ the site.

  • Swimming (There seems to be a swimming pool)

  • Fishing (Unlikely to happen due to the rain)

  • Movie (Both our own projector and the theater @ the site)

  • Barbecue

  • Enjoy the nature (Definitely)

  • Insects Observation (16th Afternoon, the activity held by the site but I’m kind of afraid of bugs)

  • Exploration of birds migration(16th evening, the activity held by the site in the theater)

2 My Luggages📄

Because the camping is rather short, only the camping accessories and a few changing clothes are needed.

Here are what I brought to the camping site:

Camping Accessories⛺

  • 1 double tent (with only one person tho)

  • 1 double self-inflating camping pad (with pillow)

  • 1 0°C sleeping bag

  • 1 solar energy camping lamp, able to work for 20 hours (There’s no sun during the stay so I may have to recharge it)

  • 2 fast-dry towels for drying after swimming and showers

  • 3 pairs of socks

  • 3 T-shirts

  • 3 shorts

Electronics📱

Please check camping site conditions before you set off

NOT All Camping Sites Provide Power Supply!

Please make a nice research before the trip. Some camping sites don’t provide power supply. Only some Car Camping sites do.

Of course it’s also a fabulous idea to get rid of the modern life and enjoy the nature!

I’m pretty sure that my camping site is equipped with power supply so I brought some electronics to modernify my camping life for a bit. I don’t think some electronics will ruin the wonderful time with the nature. They may be helpful in some occasions. More importantly, I wish I can keep my blog up-to-date during the camping trip.

Here are all the electronics that I brought

  • 1 10000mAh power bank for small devices

  • 1 smart phone for daily use

  • 1 iPad for backup

  • 1 MacBook for writing and updating blog

  • Of course the chargers for these devices

3 Trip Diary📘

Realtime Update
Here are the actual records for each day of the trip. I will try my best to keep them up-to-date

8.15 Day 0

Today every camping stuff that I bought on the Internet is delievered and I have checked my belongings. I am super longing for my first camping trip. Though the weather doesn’t seem to be nice these days, I believe it won’t affect our trip much.

8.16 Day 1

In the morning I prepared entertainments for the trip. We went to Decathlon and T&T Market to buy camping assessories and food. I bought a hat and some snacks to share with others during our trip. We finally arrived at the camping site at 5:30 PM. We put up all the tents and chairs in half an hour and started to prepare dinner.

We had 2-flavors hotpot for dinner. We dropped the food brought from home and T&T into the hotpot and the delicious scent filled our camping site instantly. Because the signal in our site is bad and it’s also hard to charge the devices, I decided to read the Norwegian Wood that I had just bought. I had read the book once when I was a junior high. Four years later, I had totally different feeling reading it this time. The past “older guys” have become the same age with me or even younger. I can’t help thinking about the power of time.

After the sunset, we set up the campfire in our camping site. We danced around the campfire in a circle, which is delighted and joyful. We also roasted mashmallow which is a new experience and delicacy for me. In a while, it rained just like what the weather forcast has told us. We put up the shelter for which we have prepared for a long time. We continued to enjoy the atmosphere of nature in the rain. After the rain we played my entertainments using our projector and we played poker together. We washed our faces and got to bed when we were all sleepy.

8.17 Day 2

I woke up from my sleeping bag at 8 AM. I unziped my tent cover with dew and a fresh air with fragment of dirt and trees rushed in. The fresh air swepted my tiredness away thoroughly. We had noddles with sause for breakfast. The host of my homestay made tasty stumbled eggs with water instead of oil, which is quite impressive.

After the breakfast, we headed to the beach near the park to swim and kayaking. The water in the lake is not very clear and there are sea weeds on the bottom. It seems that the lake is not developed and keeps it natural appearance and beauty. I have to admit that kayaking needs not only physical strength but also specific techniques. I was fliped into water for many times and I still didn’t get the key to kayaking. We had sour-cabbage and pork soup for lunch. I felt as if I had returned to my hometown when the special smell of sour-cabbage came out from the pot. It’s strange that I disliked sour-cabbage a lot when I was in China. However, when I came to Canada, it seemed to become my anchor of my hometown. Maybe that’s why people say “people always treasure what they have already lost.”

I felt exhausted in the afternoon and unable to attend the second kayaking session. I stayed at our camping site and read my book. After the sunset, we set up the camping light, the campfire and started barbecue. The host of my homestay is an expert of barbecue and everyone enjoyed it a lot. We watched entertainments using our projector after dinner, the kids loved it particularly.

8.18 Day 3

We used the divided hotpot to make instant noodles in the morning. Half of the pot is tonkusu ramen and half is sour-cabbage beef noodles. It was such a novel experience! We packed up everything after the breakfast and cleared all the garbage to prepare for checking out. After checked out, we headed to the beach and go kayaking and swimming again. We had some nuts and instant noodles for lunch and went back to the lake immediately after. We returned to Toronto at 6pm and had dinner at Domino pizza. After we got home, I found that my back was sun-burnt.I put aloe gel on my back to relieve the pain but it still lasts for a week. It’s unwise not to use sun screen under the formidable UV of Toronto.
